Make the first moment understandable
A surprising question can draw people in, but they still need to understand what is happening. A simple visual and a specific question often make a stronger opening than a complicated setup.
Create an information gap
Show enough to make the viewer curious. If you reveal the entire story immediately, there is little reason to keep watching. If you reveal too little, the moment may feel confusing.
Let the response shape the edit
A thoughtful pause, a follow-up question, or an unexpected reaction can be more interesting than the planned line. Give the editor room to build around those moments.
Try three directions
- A question about a familiar everyday problem.
- A product demonstration with an uncertain outcome.
- A choice that reveals something about the person answering.
Keep the opening aligned with the product story that follows. A strong hook earns attention and then rewards it.
